on dreams

Does God still come to us in our dreams?

No. 1 Corinthians 13 shows that God would reveal bits and pieces of knowledge to the early churches as it was needed for arising problems. Paul explained one day a perfect revelation would come (that which is perfect) and then the knowledge in part (bits and pieces like one might get in a dream or prophecy) would be done away with. All that ceased when the Bible was completed. Since we have a complete and perfect word of God giving all we need to know about God, dreams would be redundant and unnecessary.

Remember the mind is powerful, and dreams can seem extremely real. But relying in Scripture, we can understand all things happen of a few causes.
1. God.
2. Satan.
3. Humans.
4. Natural causes.

Since the Bible shows we no longer have partial revealing of God, you can rule out #1. That leaves 2-4. It was either a device of Satan, the dreamer's mind, or just natural dreaming.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works

If we can be throughly furnished by the Scriptures, why would God give us something else?

Does God come to you during the day and influence your thoughts? Can He do it at night? It will not contridict the Bible.

God does not influence your thoughts save through the Holy Spirit using His Word. If you dream something, the only way to know its truth is compare it to the Word. If it contradicts the Word, it is not of God. If it coincides with the Word, then it is most likely your natural mind dwelling and mediating on what you already have heard or known (maybe from many years before). The mind is a powerful thing, but God does not act against our will and put thoughts into our heads. If so, there is no need for a completed Word of God. And if we have a completed Word of God, there is no need for Him giving us direct knowledge, visions, dreams, prophecies, etc.
